Poor Lilly
I’m worried about my little puppy dog.
Saturday night I had some friends over, and Lilly seemed really clingy and wanted to be in my lap the entire time, which is a little unusual. I just brushed it off as nervousness since there were people around that she did not know very well. And she wanted to go outside constantly, also unusual.
After everyone left and I had cleaned up, Lilly and I climbed into bed to go to sleep. About 20 minutes later, she got sick – it was coming out both ends. And I just brushed that off too because she eats something every once in a while that doesn’t agree with her, and gets diarrhea. It’s not uncommon.
Sunday, she was fine. Still had a little bit of diarrhea, but she was playful and her normal self. Although I don’t remember her eating much.
Monday, she goes to her DMama’s house as usual. DMama gave her a treat which she promptly threw up. She didn’t each much of her dog food, and the diarrhea continued.
DMama had already planned to have the vet over to her house Tuesday night to clip her cats’ nails (we have the best vet ever!), so we decided that Lilly would stay over at DMama’s Tuesday night so that the vet could look at her.
And right now Lilly is on her way to the vet’s office for a full exam to hopefully find out what is wrong. Jody’s mom said Lilly was up almost all night, constantly going outside but not doing anything. She’s has been whining. Not eating much. I’m worried about her. I hope it’s nothing serious.
UPDATE: Lilly has colitis, which is an inflamed colon. She has some doggy medicine and some soft dog food from the vet that should help clear it up in a couple of days. Whew! (wipes forehead) I was worried about my little baby, but it sounds like she is going to be OK.

Poor puppy!
If it’s just an upset tummy, skipping everything else (dog food, treats, etc.) and just cooking her plain white rice for every meal for a few days will settle it.
Hope Lilly is feeling better soon.

I was just going to suggest the rice thing too with chicken broth to flavor it. When we had a sick puppy before, that is what the vet told us to give her. I hope she starts feeling better soon! Give her a hug for me.
